Jessica Alba Finally Breaks Her Silence Following Cash Warren Divorce Rumors
The Honest queen has spoken: Jessica Alba and her film producer husband of nearly 17 years, Cash Warren, are officially heading for divorce.
On January 16, Jessica took to Instagram to confirm the sad news in an emotional statement, writing, "I’ve been on a journey of self realization and transformation for years—both as an individual and in partnership with Cash. I’m proud of how we’ve grown in our marriage over the last 20 years and it’s now time for us to embark on a new chapter of growth and evolution as individuals."
She went on to add, "We are moving forward with love, kindness and respect for each other and will forever be a family. Our children remain our highest priority and we request privacy at this time."
This post comes just about a week after TMZ first broke the news of the longtime couple's split. "It's unclear what brought them to the decision to end their nearly 17-year marriage, but there have been some public signs of trouble," the outlet noted at the time.
What were those "signs of trouble," you ask? Both stars had been spotted recently without their rings—plus, fans resurfaced some old interviews that raised eyebrows, such as the interview where Jessica said Cash felt more like a "roommate" than a partner, or the one where Cash called his marriage with Jessica "hard work."
Luckily, a source for People claimed that Jessica and Cash are still amicable, explaining, "No matter what's going on right now, it seems they will remain close. If they're filing for divorce, it's not because of some hateful drama. They still look happy together. Jess has mentioned over the years though that it's hard to keep the spark."
And btw: It doesn't seem like Jessica and Cash are in a rush to end things, either—though reportedly, Jess plans to file for divorce "soon." As an Us Weekly insider noted, "Cash has been slowly moving things out of their house but since the fires, they have been spending more time under one roof as a family. They are being there for each other right now as it is a very stressful time."
