Cameron Diaz has kept a low profile over the past decade while raising her two kids with husband Benji Madden, but the There’s Something About Mary actress has begun easing her way back into the spotlight with her organic wine brand Avaline, the TikTok-driven The Holiday renaissance, and now, her first film role in over 10 years. Diaz last appeared on the big screen during 2014’s Annie, but she’s making her comeback with Netflix's Back in Action. And ahead of its January 17 release, she stepped out in a sheer black pussybow blouse paired with a Matrix-coded coat–marking her first red carpet appearance in 5 Years.

Diaz leaned into a cool girl style memo for the January 15 screening of Back in Action at Berlin’s Zoo Palast. As she posed alongside co-star Jamie Foxx and director Seth Gordon for a rare red carpet sighting, the star infused a little rock and roll edge into office capsule pieces. Her sheer black mockneck blouse was paired with a black tank top, flashing a hint of decolletage and highlighting its pussy bow tie on the side–a seeming nod to the coquette trend.

However, Diaz ensured her red carpet outfit was anything but stuffy as she tucked her blouse into a pair of dark wash high-waisted jeans that cinched in her waist before softly falling into a relaxed straight-leg shape. A pair of black patent leather loafers peeped out from underneath her subtly flared hemline.

Diaz’s edgy pièce de résistance–a long black trench coat that served Trinity vibes–featured a double-breasted design, wide lapels, and a slightly iridescent sheen. She wore the floor-length outerwear open to show off her separates underneath.

The actress pulled her blonde hair back into a piecey low bun with a middle-parted style and face-framing pieces that naturally waved around her face. Statement gold hoops, a matte cherry red lip, and matching monochromatic blush added a pop of color to her otherwise all-black ensemble.
