"Scarlett Johansson is the queen!" Bush Hager raved. "First of all, I've been obsessed with her movies since forever. The Girl with a Pearl Earring, I mean that shows you I'm a nerd who loves to read. She's also a big reader, which will be so much fun. We have so much in common."
In addition to their love of literature, both Bush Hager and Johansson have twin siblings, and they have daughters who are around the same age (Bush Hager's eldest, Mila, is 11, while Johansson's daughter, Rose, is 10).
"It's just a wild dream," Bush Hager continued. "But that's what I'm saying, the fact that she's coming to give us a week of her time, she could be doing anything, is a testament to the show that we have built. So I am beyond thrilled. I cannot wait. We've never seen Scarlett Johansson host a daytime show before!"

Today with Jenna & Friends is scheduled to premiere on Jan. 13, following Kotb's departure on Jan. 10. As Bush Hager explained on the Jan. 6 episode of Today, a rotating list of celebrities will step in to take Kotb's place until Johansson takes over, including Keke Palmer, Taraji P. Henson and Eva Longoria.
Kotb predicted Johansson's success as a co-host on Jan. 7, pointing to the chemistry she had with Bush Hager in the past.
"First of all, you guys had a great click. She is an awesome person," Kotb said. "And right away, I still remember, right when she was here, you were like, ‘Can she do it?’ You know when you know someone’s gonna be good at something?"
