My Jaw Just Dropped at Anna Sawai’s Dior Gown at the 2025 Golden Globes

Celebs are truly outdoing themselves at the 2025 Golden Globes, to the point where I’m actually excited for the Oscars for reasons other than inevitable drama. Genuinely obsessed with Ariana Grande’s look and Cynthia Erivo’s look, and joining them in 11/10 fits is Anna Sawai, who arrived on the red carpet wearing a Dior gown with Cartier jewelry.

Anna is nominated for her incredible performance in Shōgun, alongside Kathy Bates for Matlock, Emma D’Arcy for House of the Dragon, Maya Erskine for Mr. and Mrs. Smith, Keira Knightley for Black Doves, and Keri Russell for The Diplomat.

Anna won the Emmy for the role last year, becoming the first actress of Asian descent to win Lead Actress in a Drama Series at the award show. She spoke to Elle about breaking stereotypes in Shōgun, saying, “As a Japanese woman, it was really important to me that we weren’t just perpetuating this image that Westerners have of us. I felt like she was a character that I had never really seen before. To be able to play someone who is so layered and who’s so broken and sensitive, but also having that unbelievably strong core and finding her voice and really taking action—that meant a lot to me.”
