Jack Vidgen shows off 'bald' transformation after 'mental health hiatus'
Jack explained that he was 'going through a bit of a life shift',
Jack Vidgen has returned to social media with a brand new look after spending a month offline to take care of his well-being.
The 26-year-old singer and TV personality shared a candid post on Instagram this week telling his followers that he was ready to reconnect after being on a “little mental health hiatus”.
“I’ve been reflecting a lot over these past 5 weeks about what’s important to me and am going through a bit of a life shift right now,” he wrote.
Jack, who rose to fame as the winner of Australia’s Got Talent in 2011, revealed that he wants to get back his “first love” - singing.

“I’m also going to start voice & performance coaching (stay tuned for that),” he added. “I’ll also still be sharing life on here, I have just needed some distance from socials to re-align with my values and who I am as a person.
“There’s still going to be glam (I want to turn one of the bedrooms in my new house into a glam room!), but there’s also going to be not so glam (like me bald rn in the second pic lol).
“Anyways, speech over. Thank you as always for the support and love.”
Alongside the caption, Jack posted two selfies showcasing two very different sides of him. The first snap shows the vocalist in full glam wearing a black singlet, while the second shows him fresh-faced with a buzz cut in a grey hoodie and sunglasses.
'Onward and upward'
Jack’s followers quickly took to the comments to praise him for being so open about his mental health, including Abbie Chatfield who wrote: “Love it bby!!!”
“Proud of you,” one person replied, followed by another who added, “I adore you. Evolution is power”.
“The buzz cut is cute. Onward and upward dear Jack,” someone else shared, while a different user replied, “Good on you for taking the time to reset and look after your well-being”.
“Glammed up, stripped back, both are perfection, and we are here for anything and everything. Looking forward to seeing what the future brings you Jack,” another fan remarked.

Since entering the public eye at age 14, Jack has competed on The Voice, America’s Got Talent, I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, The Masked Singer and Australian Ninja Warrior.
However, he told Yahoo Lifestyle following his appearance on The Challenge Australia last year that he was ready to move on from reality TV.
“I feel like I should hang my hat up now for competition shows,” he shared with a laugh. “I feel like that era is done maybe.
“I think about everything I’ve done and I think, ‘F**k, am I a flog’? But if a network reaches out to you and f**king offers you to go on a show and offers you a pay cheque, would you not say yes? Come on!”
