I'm A Celebrity: Why this year's cast left the jungle 'furious' and 'disappointed'

Is this warranted by the I'm A Celebrity cast?

This year's season of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! Australia ended on Sunday night with Skye Wheatley walking away as this year's queen of the jungle, but there's been little celebration from her co-stars now it's all over.

Yahoo Lifestyle understands that many of this year's campmates have been left “disappointed” by the lack of impact their time on the show has had on their public profiles.

Despite this season reaching up to 1.4 million viewers at its peak, none of the cast members have gained many new followers across their socials – with Candice Warner even losing fans.

Brittany Hockley, who was eliminated in episode 20 and had gained plenty of screen time until then, has gained just 4,410 new Instagram followers in the last 30 days.

Similarly, Michelle Bridges has gained only 2,730, swimmer Ellie Cole has gained 4,560 and Candice lost more fans than she gained, with her account losing 1,410 followers in the last 30 days.

Skye, Khanh Ong, and Callum Hole have grown their social media the most, each gaining just over 20,000 new followers, but these numbers still fall short.

A source connected to the show says: “Many of the campmates who were eliminated before the finale raced to their phones and were left disappointed by the lack of engagement and new fans. As much as they all say they do the show for the experience and fee, the majority go on to boost their public profiles but this hasn't really happened.”

Yahoo Lifestyle also understands some have been left “furious” whilst catching up on media coverage from their time on the show, and seeing host Robert Irwin has been this year's main focus.

“Everyone loves him but some feel this year it's just been the Robert Irwin show,” the source added.

In the last 30 days, Robert has gained 228,900 new Instagram followers thanks to his time hosting the prime-time TV show.
