Drew Barrymore found her and Adam Sandler's daughters watching “50 First Dates” together: 'This is so sweet'

"I was like, 'Why are you guys watching this? Don't you get enough of me and your dad?'"

Drew Barrymore is sharing an adorable 50 First Dates memory that she'll never forget.

The actress revealed on Monday's episode of The Drew Barrymore Show that she recently found one of her daughters and one of Adam Sandler's daughters watching their 2004 romantic comedy while hanging out together.

"My daughter and Adam's daughter were watching it at my house the other night and I was like, 'Why are you guys watching this? Don't you get enough of me and your dad?'" Barrymore quipped. "And they were just so happy and I was like, 'Oh, but this is so sweet and wonderful.'"

Barrymore didn't identify which of her or Sandler's daughters were watching the movie. She shares two girls — Olive, 12, and Frankie, 10 — with ex Will Kopelman, while Sandler is dad to daughters Sunny, 16, and Sadie, 18, with wife Jackie.

Barrymore brought up the story during a conversation with Georgie & Mandy's First Marriage stars Montana Jordan and Emily Osment, the latter of whom admitted to seeing 50 First Dates for the first time a few months ago.

Osment added that it must be "comforting" for Barrymore to see her children expressing an interest in her work. "It is!" She agreed. "Because your kids will — a lot of the time — reject so many things about you that when you see them embracing something, you're like, 'Oh, how fantastic!'"

Directed by Peter Segal, 50 First Dates follows the complicated love story between marine veterinarian Henry (Sandler) and art teacher Lucy (Barrymore), the latter of whom has anterograde amnesia and is unable remember any day after her accident. While the couple wind up together in the end, Barrymore revealed in August that an alternate ending almost had them going their separate ways.

"The original ending was her saying, 'You should go and live your life, because this is no life here,'" she told her "Drew's News" co-anchor Ross Mathews. "And he goes away, as he does, and he comes back and he walks into the restaurant and he just sits down and says, 'Hi, I'm Henry.' And the film ends."

Mathews replied, "Honestly, can I just tell you: Thank you. Thank you for changing it."
