Heavily Layered Looks Were the Highlight of Paris Men’s Street Style
In WWD’s buyers’ report summing up the biggest trends from the fall 2025 menswear collections in Paris, layering scored top marks. Attendees, it seems, got the message early as the fashions they modeled on the streets closely mirrored the models coming down the runways.
Heavily layered ensembles incorporating a math equation’s worth of knits, shirts, vests, jackets and coats were added one on top of another, not only catching the lens of paparazzi, but also keeping showgoers warm in the bitter January cold.

Carrying over from the street style in Milan just one week earlier, lean topcoats ruled again, still with the emphasis put on heritage prints like checks, pinstripes and houndstooth, which added a dash of debonair to utility clothes in denim and leather.
Fur, especially shearling, was another outerwear hit, be it in subtle touches at the collar on aviator-style jackets or worked into enveloping chubbies for a bohemian ’70s vibe. Fur carried into headwear as well with shaggy trappers and bucket hats spotted on a few guys about town.
Other key accessories included chic crossbody bags snuggled just below the armpit and ties, proving the remixed prep trend, which has been filtering through the men’s market for some time, still has legs.
And while making the rounds at Paris Fashion Week is certainly work, it isn’t for business-casual types. As we’ve come to expect — and actively seek out — goths, punks and wayward fashionistas alike showed out dressed head-to-toe in cult-favorite designers like Rick Owens, Yohji Yamamoto and Willy Chavarria, who made a splash debuting his first European runway collection. Sticking mostly to all-black, their take on layering went to extremes, either sharp and architectural or lose and blanket-like.
