Heather El Moussa Says Christina Haack and Josh Hall's “Flip Off” Fight Is ‘the Real Reality'

"Not everyone makes the cut," El Moussa commented on Josh's seemingly brief time on their upcoming HGTV competition series, 'The Flip Off'

On Thursday, Jan. 2, the Selling Sunset alum, 37, commented on an intense new sneak peek of her upcoming HGTV series, The Flip Off, which stars Heather, her husband Tarek El Moussa, Tarek's ex Christina and — very briefly — Christina's now-estranged husband Josh Hall.

In the clip, filmed before Christina and Josh's July 2024 split, the exes have a mostly one-sided conversation that ends with Josh, 44, berating his wife.

After Christina, 41, doesn't react to his declaration that "Halls rule!" he tells her to "Remember, you’re a Hall now. Don’t get confused in this competition about what your last name is.” When she doesn't reply he snaps, “You’re rude.”

Christina responds, "I don't over talk."

“Yeah, the s—t you say and I’m just like, 'I wish you’d shut up already,'” Josh replies, before adding, “My wife’s pissing me off already,”

Heather responded in the comments of the clip, which was shared jointly by Christina and HGTV on Instagram ahead of the series' two-hour premiere on Jan. 29.

"Not everyone makes the cut—and that’s the real reality," Heather wrote, adding a woman shrugging emoji.

Her fans seemed to agree. "Love the girl support," wrote one in response to Heather's comment. Another added, "Some people NEED to be cut, so others can keep going on and winning in life."

Heather and Christina have struck up an unlikely friendship after tensions early on in their relationship. The pair have playfully poked fun at their similarities while promoting The Flip Off and shared their genuine support for one another.

Heather recently told Access Hollywood on the red carpet that Christina is "going through something very public, as you guys know. That’s been a lot of challenges, but it’s also been good."

Added Tarek, 43, “We’re here for anything she needs, honestly...at the end of the day, we’re actually friends. We take care of each other, we’re really supportive.”

Christina, Tarek and Heather even spent Christmas Eve together with their blended family this year.

The Flip Off was first announced in May 2024, two months before Josh filed for divorce from Christina on July 15, citing irreconcilable differences and requesting spousal support.

Christina and Josh were meant to face off against Tarek and Heather, couple vs. couple. But in the wake of the filing, it was unclear if Josh would appear at all on the show, which had already begun filming. Christina was seen returning to set without him later that month.

HGTV did not address his role in the production until Dec. 12, when they teased Josh's involvement in a press release: "As The Flip Off begins, Christina will start the competition against Tarek and Heather alongside her husband, but a sudden life change will bring a shocking twist," the synopsis reads in part.

Josh was also removed from promotional images for the show released at the same time.

The network has not revealed who will replace Josh as Christina's partner, but it appears that she'll lean on trusted members of her team from her solo series, Christina on the Coast, at least in part.

A recent promo video for the series hints at a new character, who eagle-eyed fans might recognize as her contractor, Michael Lange, whom she recently posted two photos with and called a "good" man in another Instagram.

HGTV also confirmed that Christina's second husband, Ant Anstead, will cameo on the show, but not as her partner. The British automotive expert and TV presenter, will serve as a guest judge, along with other familiar faces from the stars' personal lives.

The Flip Off premieres Jan. 29, at 8 p.m. ET/PT with a two-hour episode.
