Prince Harry's panic after text message from Prince William: 'Wow'

The final volume of the Netflix docuseries Harry & Meghan has revealed a moment that had Prince Harry fretting after the couple's bombshell Oprah interview in March last year.

The documentary showed Meghan Markle sitting at her computer talking to her friend Tyler Perry on the phone following the interview where they made racism claims about the royals.

Meghan is reading out a statement from the royal family that says: "The whole family is saddened to learn the full extent of how challenging the last few years have been for Harry and Meghan. The issues raised, particularly that of race, are concerning."

As Meghan reads out the end of the statement saying the issue will be addressed privately, Harry is seen nearby with his eyes fixed on his phone as he bites his fingernails.

Without saying anything he walks over the Meghan and shows her his phone while he is visibly upset.

"What am I looking at?" she asks before realising he is showing her a text message he received from his brother Prince William.

"Wow," she continues as Harry sniffs.

Meghan then says to Tyler: "H just got a text from his brother."

Harry is seen looking worried as Meghan hangs up the phone, before he says, "I wish I knew what to do".

Meghan hugs the Duke of Sussex for some time and suggests they "take a breather, get some air and then decide".

It is not known what was written in the text message, but it is believed to be related to the couple's tell-all interview.

Footage from days before the text was sent was aired in the episode where Prince William told reporters he had not spoken to Harry following the interview with Oprah, adding, "We are very much not a racist family".

Meghan said in the docuseries Oprah had approached them for the interview, while Harry adds they had been living in the US for a year before the tell-all interview.

"And sitting down with Oprah was a reaction to what had happened that year," he said.

Meghan's scathing attack

In the second volume of the docuseries, the Duchess of Sussex made the brutal claim stories were planted about her to take the negative spotlight off others in the royal family.

British privacy lawyer Jenny Afia claimed there was a "war against Meghan".

"I've certainly seen evidence that there was negative briefing from the palace against Harry and Meghan to suit other people's agendas," she said.

Meghan's friend Lucy Fraser also suggested Meghan was a "scapegoat" for the palace.

They would feed stories on her whether they were true or not to avoid other less favourable stories being printed," she said.

Meghan launched her own attack, suggesting she was used to take the heat off other royal family members being portrayed in a negative light in the media.
