Gogglebox star reveals major disappointment after shock axing: 'Blindsided'
Isabelle Silbery, her mum Kerry and her daughter Ruby won't return to Gogglebox in 2025.
Gogglebox Australia star Isabelle Silbery broke her followers' hearts when she revealed she, her mum Kerry and daughter Ruby won't be returning to the reality show in 2025. Isabelle and her mum first appeared on the show with her grandma Emma, and the quirky and sassy family won over fans with their TV commentary.
The show, which was previously on Foxtel, has been moved to Channel Ten for the 2025 season. And after the move, the Silbery family didn't make the cut, leaving fans incredibly sad.
Gogglebox stars 'blindsided' by shock axing
Speaking with Mamamia, Isabelle shared that she was shocked by the news, especially because she'd been asked to set aside time for filming the 2025 season of the show. She said that receiving the news they wouldn't be returning "was not something I saw coming".
Isabelle said her mum, in particular, felt "blindsided" by the whole situation.
"I won't lie, it was a shock. Mum was equally as shocked and we tried to make sense of things," she told the website.
She shared that her biggest disappointment from the whole situation is that the show seems to have chosen to remove the female aspect that her family brought.
"It was explained the cut was due to financial costs, however no other families have been cut which left me wondering why and who decided that three generations of women was the right choice to make, especially when the show is already dominated heavily by men's voices," she said.

"It was the sole reason we applied for the show in the first place. I saw a gap for multi-generational women's voices in the mainstream media and I just knew it was important for Australia to have this more than ever," Isabelle added.
She shared that she hopes they can find other opportunities to elevate women's voices, "It's really important to us that we don't just jump into offers that come our way just for the sake of it. We are super passionate about representing real women's voices so our next step would have to be something that aligns with our core values."
Isabelle announces she and her family won't return to Gogglebox
Isabelle first appeared on Gogglebox in 2016 with Kerry and her grandma Emmie, calling the axing the end of an era.
"It’s with a very heavy heart to announce that Mum, Ruby and I will not be returning to Gogglebox in 2025 🥺💔 Foxtel have decided not to renew our beloved show and although the show will continue on Channel 10, the three of us have not been included in its new form," she wrote.
"9 years ago, I saw an opportunity to showcase real women’s voices across multi-generations. Baby Ruby filling in for Emmie in recent seasons made it feel full circle. It has been an absolute pleasure sharing our lounge rooms with you all and cannot thank you enough for the love and support. It might be the end of an era but it’s also an opportunity for new exciting beginnings…"
