Gogglebox star reunites with cast in sweet video following dementia diagnosis
Fans were in tears over the heartwarming post.
Gogglebox Australia favourite Emmie Silbery had a sweet reunion with her co-stars over the weekend after she left the show due to her dementia diagnosis.
The 94-year-old TV star appeared on 14 seasons of the reality series alongside her daughter Kerry and granddaughter Isabelle before stepping back in February 2023.
In a video posted by fellow Gogglebox stars Lee and Keith Riley on Sunday evening, Emmie is shown being showered by love from her various co-stars.
She is seen hugging Faye Kontos and Kate Dalton, who have both been on the show since season one, and sharing a long embrace with Tim Lai.
“It was great to see our darling Emmie again,” Lee and Keith captioned the clip, which played alongside Stevie Wonder’s song ‘Isn’t She Lovely’.

Emmie steps back from Gogglebox
It was announced ahead of Gogglebox’s seventeenth season last year that Emmie wouldn’t be returning as a couch critic due to her illness.
Her daughter Kerry said in a statement: “The beauty of Gogglebox is that it’s real and brings families together and with that, comes the reality of changes in a family. We’ve had to make an array of difficult decisions that are best for Emmie since her recent diagnosis with dementia. Emmie has now happily settled into an aged care facility right around the corner from both Isabelle and me.”

Isabelle shared a gallery of snaps with Emmie on Instagram last month after giving birth to her first child, a daughter named Ruby Emily.
She explained that she named her daughter Ruby after Emmie’s aunty, who adopted her at age nine when she became an orphan.
“She saved Emmie from the horrible orphanages back in those days and cared for her like she was her own daughter,” Isabelle wrote. “I hope our Ruby inherits generations of maternal resilience and Emmie’s cheeky sense of humour.”
