‘GMA’s Ginger Zee Sends a Direct Message About Body Shaming: ‘I Love My Thick Thighs’

Ginger Zee issued a direct response this week to a social media user who criticized the way she looked while on live television.

In a video uploaded to Instagram on Wednesday, Dec. 4, the Good Morning America star appeared behind a screenshot of a tweet that someone posted in reaction to a dress that she recently wore on the show.

While an earlier post on X (formerly Twitter) was from someone who admired the look, the X user that Zee called out had later weighed in to slam Zee’s appearance, writing in part that her dress looked “way too short” and was “not flattering at all.” A subsequent screenshot showed the same person claiming in a separate tweet that the dress was “way too short for her thick thighs.”

In her video, Zee, 43, also shared a screenshot of her response, which read, “I love my thick thighs 🙌😂 and I disagree with you … also, if I have too thick of thighs who doesn’t?”

An audio message Zee attributed to another Instagram user accompanied the video. It further emphasized the point that Zee was making: “I just don’t have the energy for this. I am unsubscribing from this drama.”

Fans rushed to praise Zee for her response to body shaming on Instagram, with several also assuring the ABC News meteorologist that she looks “gorgeous every day.”

“People need to learn to keep their mouths shut. You look amazing as the first day I became a fan in 2016! Keep on being the fabulous icon you are Ginger!!!!” one fan wrote.

Another Instagram user urged the mother of two to “Continue to be fierce with your wardrobe and ignore the haters and naysayers!!!”

“Why do people feel the need to be so rude?!” one Instagram user wondered. “You don't deserve that as you brighten up our mornings. I thought you looked fantastic as always.”

“Great response!” a different fan said of Zee’s reaction to the criticism on X. “I am in envy of your legs."

“Unbelievable 😠 Not that it’s anyone’s business but you have an awesome figure 🔥🙌,” another fan wrote.
