Glen Powell Reveals His Parents Have Made Cameos in Every One of His Movies, Dating Back to “Spy Kids 3”

Glen Powell’s parents are always ready to step in front of the camera!

The actor, 35, revealed that his parents Glen Powell Sr. and Cyndy Powell made yet another cameo in one of his films — which has become a pattern of theirs over the years —  this time in Twisters.

“There's a great sequence midway through a rodeo sequence in the movie and they’re right behind Daisy Edgar-Jones and I,” Glen shared on The Today Show.

“You’ll be able to see them here in a second,” he said before a clip played showing the couple in cowboy hats sitting behind their characters in the film. “Yeah, they’re right behind us there… Look at that.”

When Today show host Hoda Kotb asked if his parents have “been in all” his movies “somewhere,” the actor confirmed it.

“They’ve made it in since Spy Kids 3,” he admitted. “Yeah, literally since Spy Kids 3. I think they’ve been in every single one.”

Glen revealed in December 2023 that Glen Sr. and Cyndy appeared in his rom-com film Anyone But You as airline passengers in one scene, during which his and costar Syndey Sweeney’s characters are traveling to Australia.

“The funniest part about that scene in general is that my dad's the real Method actor,” Glen told Entertainment Weekly while praising their performances. “He's stone-cold asleep.”

“I'm sitting there as Sydney is trying to do gymnastics over my face and quite often slipping and falling onto me, and I'm having to not break. Whereas my dad, he's the Daniel Day-Lewis of sleep acting,” he explained. “There was not a false beat in that performance.”

Glen also noted that his mother even got to shine during a brief speaking part in the film. “My mom is across the aisle and gets the ‘I'll have what she's having’ When Harry Met Sally moment,” he said. “She gets an iconic look in that scene.”

“She came in and killed it,” the star added. “I was very proud of both of them in that scene.”

His parents also got to meet Powell’s Hidden Figures costar, Octavia Spencer on the set of the film. Spencer recalled to DuJour, that the Top Gun: Maverick actor “introduced his family” one day “during the cut.”

“He said, ‘The Powells are a traveling band. They come to all of my sets,’ ” Spencer recalled. “They all laughed and lit up the room with their signature megawatt smiles.”

Twisters hits theaters on July 19.
