Fox News Gives Charlie Kirk Profane Welcome in Hot Mic Gaffe
Laura Ingraham was left red-faced after an awkward hot mic moment as she introduced Charlie Kirk on her Fox News show.
A disembodied voice could be heard saying an expletive – “Oh s***!” – as Ingraham launched into a live segment with the conservative commentator.
The Fox host raised her voice in what appeared to be a belated attempt to cover up the hot mic gaffe, but she was unsuccessful.
“Joining me now, someone who knows a little bit about this, Charlie Kirk, Turning Point USA founder,” said Ingraham, trying her best to ignore the off-camera interruption.

Being a pro, Ingraham pushed on, saying: “Charlie, it’s great to see you. Do you trust that Zuckerberg and these other CEOs have really turned a corner?”
Kirk gave no indication he heard the voice, answering: “Well, they’ve performatively turned a corner, which is a good first step.”
He continued, saying the environment for Trump’s second administration is very different from his first.
“Just to think that on the dais, you’re going to have Mark Zuckerberg, Elon Musk, and Jeff Bezos, who back in 2017, they were just boycotting the inauguration,” he said. “Back in 2017, the first inauguration was met with resistance, marches, protests, people saying they’re gonna leave the country, fighting Trump tooth and nail…Whereas now in the Trump second term, it’s really the acquiescence. It is the bending of the knee.”
According to a source at Fox, the remark was no reflection on the Turning Point USA founder. Mediaite was told a staffer was reacting after making a mistake with another guest’s microphone.
“The audio operator accidentally slid the wrong fader which was allotted for a different guest. That guest in turn was adjusting his IFB at the time and said, ‘oh s***’ which was accidentally transmitted on the air,” reported the insider.
That didn’t stop social media users from trolling the controversial Kirk.
“In fairness this is the sound i make when Charlie Kirk is on my TV,” journalist Aaron Rupar wrote on X.
“They should introduce all the guests with this audio,” added PatriotTakes.
Fox News has been contacted for comment.
Last November, another Fox host, Bret Baier, also had to deal with a hot mic embarrassment when an off-camera voice could be heard muttering “Oh Lord!” when he was talking about the future of the GOP.
“You know, the question is, what the Republican Party looks like now. It’s a multiracial party, to your point, it’s working class, and maybe it’s the future. I mean, it’s Elon Musk. It is Joe Rogan and podcasts.”
The voice was heard when Baier mentioned Musk’s name.
