FBoy Island's Ally and Joe hit back at controversial 'villain edit'
EXCLUSIVE: Ally Woodfall and Joe Blanch are still going strong six months after filming FBoy Island.
Not everyone found their love story on this season of FBoy Island, but one couple that has surprised fans by staying strong post-show is Ally Woodfall and her winner, Joe Blanch. The two had a controversial journey to finding love, with Joe's motives being questioned throughout the series.
Six months post-filming, Joe and Ally are still together and they're clearing up rumours about their relationship, with Joe saying he's made peace with being the 'villain' for season two.
Fboy's Island Ally and Joe speak out on their edit
Ally said watching their journey on TV has been difficult. "Obviously, reality TV, it's about the drama. It's about these moments that are made to captivate the audience and to follow along the journey. And I think that for me, I came onto the island for one thing, and that was to find a connection," she told Yahoo Lifestyle.
"I wasn't there for money, I wasn't there for anything else, really, and I found that very, very early on. There were connections elsewhere, obviously, but for me, the connection with Joe was the strongest."
As for his journey, Joe said that he's happy with how he played his "game".
"The best way I can explain this is you never know what the right thing to say in those moments is. At the time, it's a bit of a joke. You laugh afterwards and go, ‘I wasn't actually being serious’, but it's the way of the edit," Joe explained. "Sometimes there does have to be a villain, and you know what? That was just me this time, and I'm okay with that. I am happy with how I played my game, not necessarily the way it was portrayed on TV, but it is what it is at the end of the day.

Ally on what she wants viewers to understand
"We've got to remember it was six months ago now and that's not a true depiction of who we are as people," Ally said about watching the show back. "The audience doesn't know us. You know a 50-minute edited version of us. We're real people, we have real thoughts and feelings and emotions, and these are our lives. It's hard to have a lot of the comments and things like that be so negative when I think both of us went in with pure intentions."
"What I would say to them is go put yourself on a reality TV show, put yourself in the spotlight and see how you would react in those situations," Joe said. "Because it's definitely not how you think you would. There are so many things at play - you could be tired that day, you could be annoyed, you just don't know. In real life, you go through a hundred things that you say, and you're like, ‘Why did I say that?’. But these things are documented on camera and you don't actually get a chance to take them back. So there's no way out of it."

As for the $50k prize pool, Ally said the two plan to put it away for a rainy day.
"So what we've actually planned to do is put it aside and away for a little period of time, maybe a couple of years or so, until we're ready to buy a house together," Ally shared. "We'll definitely do some travel, do our hot boy Europe trip together. I think really have this chance, I guess, to live our lives together."
