Aussie reality show roasted for 'disappointing' cast: 'Everyone is off'
Viewers have shared their brutal opinions of the FBoy Island Australia season two cast.
The cast of FBoy Island Australia’s highly-anticipated second season has finally been unveiled and viewers have had a very mixed reaction to the new contestants. The popular BINGE reality series follows 24 men who are either Nice Guys looking for love or FBoys who are only there to play the game and win the $50,000 cash prize.
After a drama-filled first season, fans have been eagerly awaiting the show’s return starring Krystal Thomas, Ally Woodfall and Nicole Mitrov. However, many people took to social media on Wednesday to say they weren’t too impressed with the “disappointing” men they have to choose from.
“Last season’s selection [was] way better,” one person wrote, while another added, “Everyone is off”.

“Why are they all GRONKS this season?” a third remarked.
“Yearbooks never make anyone look good,” someone else commented.
Fans spot familiar face in the cast
Meanwhile, plenty of people were shocked to see Australian stand-up comedian Lewis Spears amongst the cast - especially because they thought he was still in a relationship with his long-term girlfriend Jasmine, who he first began dating in 2012.
“No way Lewis Spears is on this,” one fan replied, followed by another who said, “Lewis Spears being on this is crazy!”.
“Lewis on a dating show was not on my 2024 bingo card,” someone else shared.
“I’ll actually unironically watch this for you @lewspears,” a different user responded, with another writing, “I’m about to watch TV for the first time this year”.
Lewis and his ‘ex-girlfriend’ haven’t posted any photos together recently, but still follow each other on Instagram. It’s uncertain if Lewis was still with Jasmine during filming - which would subsequently make him the perfect FBoy - but he will definitely be bringing the comedy this season.
Former reality stars join the cast
Lewis isn’t the only contestant who might be familiar to viewers, with two other men - that we know of - previously appearing on reality TV.
Paddy Colliar was the “loveable larrikin” on Ali Oetjen’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018 and went on to appear in the second season of Bachelor In Paradise the following year. Although he was a bit of a player on the Bachelor franchise, we’ll have to wait and see if he’s changed his ways and now identifies as a Nice Guy.
Meanwhile, Jake O’Brien competed on The Amazing Race Australia in 2022 with his long-term partner Holly MacAlpine where they dropped from 1st to 18th during the second leg and were eliminated. The 'model couple' also appeared on the first-ever season of MTV’s Ex on the Beach: Couples last year, but haven’t posted any photos together on Instagram since December 2023.

However, Jake posted a TikTok to his almost 700,000 followers earlier this month dancing and hugging Holly alongside the caption: “Guess who’s back.”
It will be interesting to see how he fits into the show, however, given he and his ‘ex’ Holly are seemingly back together - if they ever broke up at all?! - it’s safe to say he won’t be winning the season.
