Erin Krakow Has News to Share About 'When Calls the Heart' Season 12
Guess what, When Calls the Heart fans? You may need to pack your bags after the holidays, because we're heading to Hope Valley very soon!
The hit Hallmark series is gearing up for its monumental season 12 on the network, and its star Erin Krakow (who plays Elizabeth Thornton) delivered a bombshell about the upcoming season premiere.
When Erin's latest holiday movie Santa Tell Me (which reunited her with former co-star Daniel Lissing and aired as part of the "Countdown to Christmas" movie event) premiered on Hallmark on November 9, she went on Instagram to reveal that When Calls the Heart would air the first episode of season 12 on Sunday, January 5, 2025 at 9 p.m. ET. What's more, her post featured a 30-second trailer of what's to come... including the introduction of Little House on the Prairie star Melissa Gilbert to the cast in a recurring role.
"Hi! Hey! Have you heard the good news?" Erin excitedly announced in the caption. "Season 12 of @wcth_tv premieres January 5th 2025 on @hallmarkchannel! 😘."
Given how the When Calls the Heart season 11 finale just aired in June, fans were ecstatic to learn they'd get new episodes sooner than they expected.
"Woohoo!!!! A January premiere 🤩🤩🙌🏼🙌🏼 This is better than my wildest dreams. Bring on season 12 and all the 'juicy' and 'steamy' romance 😍❤️🥰🔥🔥," one person wrote. "Busy. Busy. Lady! Can’t wait to watch season 12 with you and the hearties! ❤️," another declared. "So excited for this story to continue ❤️," a different viewer added.
Even though it's still weeks away, this was the When Calls the Heart gift we've all been waiting for! And while Hallmark is keeping a good portion of the storyline under wraps, we do know a few things about what's to come in season 12.
We know that Elizabeth will continue her newfound romance with Nathan Grant (Kevin McGarry), which officially began at the end of season 11. What's more, Chris McNally teased a new relationship may be in the works for his character Lucas Bouchard, after he and Elizabeth ended their engagement at the end of season 10. And we know Melissa will be on the show for two episodes, playing Georgie McGill, a woman who has ties to one Hope Valley resident.
January 5 can't come soon enough!
