Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, a well-known movie star who appears in the new movie Red One opposite Chris Evans, recently faced allegations of extensive tardiness and other behavior on set.

Now, Johnson has confirmed that some aspects of the rumors are true, but he explained exactly what the "ridiculous" reports got wrong.

In a new interview with GQ, Johnson addressed the claims of disappointing on-set behavior after The Wrap reported that "Johnson showed up as much as eight hours late to set on the movie — forcing the crew to shoot around him on some days. For previous films, Johnson has made a habit of peeing in a water bottle to save time, upsetting crew members."

“Yeah. That happens," Johnson told the publication, confirming that he does pee in a bottle, as reported.

As for being late to set, the actor stated, "Yeah, that happens too. But not that amount, by the way," referring to the "eight hours late" that The Wrap reported. "That was a bananas amount. That’s crazy. Ridiculous.”

Johnson's co-workers came to his defense, with the director of Red One, Jake Kasdan, telling GQ that he "never missed a day of work ever. He has a lot going on. He can be late sometimes, but such is Hollywood—that’s the case with everybody."

Kasdan praised the actor's behavior, adding, "I’ve never seen him be anything but great to every single person on the set.”

Evans claimed that Johnson was late sometimes because he worked out in the mornings, but it was planned and accepted by everyone involved: "He comes in slightly later on certain mornings, but it’s part of the plan. It’s worked into the schedules and everyone knows it, so he shows up when he’s scheduled to show up.”

Johnson and Evans' new movie, Red One, was released internationally last week, and it's set to hit U.S. theaters on Nov. 15.
