Epic $7 Kmart DIY transformation stuns: 'Wow!'
DIYers are loving this simple product for breathing new life into their old furniture
Upcycling furniture has never been easier, thanks to Kmart's budget-friendly range of chalk paints. Priced at just $7, these little pots of magic are turning everyday furniture into chic masterpieces, and DIY enthusiasts are loving every brushstroke.
One member of the Kmart Home Decor and Hacks Facebook group recently shared their incredible DIY project; a refurbished chest of drawers transformed with Kmart's chalk paint.
"Yes I know, another chalk paint makeover," the DIYer wrote, along with photos of her freshly revived piece.
The project's success lies in its simplicity, with the creative Kmart shopper explaining she needed only one and a half jars of the paint in vintage green to achieve a flawless finish in three coats, applying it with a mini foam roller.
"No sanding, painted straight on, haven't waxed or varnished it," she said.

With the chalk paint trend taking social media by storm, more and more people are discovering the joys of DIY furniture transformation. It's a fantastic way to breathe new life into old pieces, all without breaking the bank.
Social media users couldn't help but shower the DIY project with praise. "Looks great!" one person exclaimed, while another suggested, "The lacquer of the same brand in clear will protect it."
The on trend colour of vintage green with an ultra matte finish received plenty of praise, with one comment simply stating, "Love this colour!" and another gushing, "Wow!!! Love this! I'm going to attempt this now that you've said no sanding required!"
Of course, as with any budget DIY venture, questions about the paint's longevity arose, with one curious group member enquiring, "Is it scraping off easily?"
Another seasoned DIYer came to the rescue, sharing their experience with Kmart's chalk paint. "I've used it on my table legs and chairs," they revealed. "We don't use the table much, but the chairs get moved and knocked, and six months in, it's holding up. I think the most important thing is giving the paint time to cure and using the appropriate seal to protect it."
