Dior Brings Paris to Dallas With Café Dior by Dominique Crenn
Dior is bringing a taste of Paris to Dallas with the opening of Café Dior by Dominique Crenn.
Opening on Feb. 22 at the brand’s Highland Park Village boutique in Dallas, the restaurant will feature the culinary vision of the Michelin-starred chef Dominique Crenn, who set about trying to bring to life what Mr. Christian Dior would envision if he were to open a café today.

Crenn, whose San Francisco restaurant Atelier Crenn has been awarded three Michelin stars, was drawn to the project as a way to put her own spin on the legacy of Dior — much like how the house does with clothes, she says.
“The beauty in the way that they let their designer express themselves to tell their story — that’s what attracted me to them because they wanted to work with us and they want us to tell the Dior story through the Dominique Crenn eye,” she says.
“I was inspired by all the designs of Maison Dior from 1947 to now, from Monsieur Dior to John Galliano to Maria Grazia Chiuri to Yves Saint Laurent,” she adds. “I wanted to link the emotion from these beautiful creations.”
Crenn would rather diners be surprised by the dishes in person, but hints that several menu items are culinary interpretations of famous Dior looks. The La Colle Noire chicken dish, which features an herb sauce and Tuscan kale around the chicken, is inspired by a green dress designed by Marc Bohan in the ‘70s. The Miss Dior Consommé, which features edible flowers, takes inspiration from the floral embroideries of the Miss Dior dress. A chicken, mint, cucumber and arugula dish is her interpretation of a Raf Simons green 2012 dress.
Dior and Dallas have been linked since Christian Dior visited the city in 1947 to receive the Neiman Marcus Award following the presentation of his New Look collection in Paris.
Crenn’s team is also committed to working with local farmers in the Dallas area, to both provide the highest quality ingredients and involve the community around the restaurant.
“I’m really here to give homage to Mr. Dior and to his vision and hopefully to bring a fresh vision through the food,” Crenn says. “It’s very simple, it’s delicious.”
