Demi Moore's Space Age Silk Gown Shimmered at the 2025 Golden Globes
She was nominated for her standout role in 'The Substance.'
Demi Moore has been on a sartorial roll ever since the promotion began for The Substance, and it seems her fashion mastery won't be letting up anytime soon. Moore arrived at the 2025 Golden Globes dazzling in a champagne-colored strapless gown by Armani Privé. The Old Hollywood-inspired number dazzled with an asymmetrical shimmery fold along its bodice that gave the otherwise classic silhouette a 2025 update.
It's the first time the actor is up for Best Performance by a Female Actor in a Motion Picture since her breakout role in Ghost, which premiered back in 1990. So it's fitting she dressed the part of the glamorous statue she's after.
Moore didn't snag the award in 1991 when she attended the Globes with her then-husband Bruce Willis. She did, however, make quite the splash on the red carpet when she stepped out in a black tuxedo. In retrospect, the look foreshadowed a longstanding penchant for menswear that Moore has recently reignited in celebration of The Substance.
Apart from her suiting-inspired look at the movie's premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, Moore has also tried her hand at red leather latex, parachute pants, and Old Hollywood glamour. Oh, and let's not forget the particularly stunning stained glass-inspired gown designed by Oscar de la Renta that she wore to the film's Los Angeles premiere in September.
Suffice to say, promoting The Substance has been an exercise in sartorial experimentation for the Hollywood veteran. Making the film, however, seems to have taken quite the toll on both Moore and her co-star Margaret Qualley, who plays the "perfect" version of Moore's character, Elisabeth Sparkle.
“To give you an idea of the intensity, my first week that I actually had off, where it was just Margaret working, I got shingles,” Moore told The Los Angeles Times in a recent interview. “And I then lost, like, 20 pounds. You have to walk away feeling that you put it all on the table. It called for it and it’s what you want to bring to it.”
