Kerry Washington Resurrected Barbie Pink For the Golden Globes Red Carpet

Kerry Washington is forever a style star on the red carpet, but particularly shines when she takes a leap of faith and steps out of her sartorial comfort zone for something more daring or bold. Such was the case at the 2025 Golden Globes, where the actress took inspiration from 2023's Barbie and wore a dress that looked fit for the iconic doll.

The Scandal actress looked stunning in an ensemble that was head to toe Balenciaga that consisted of a bright, nearly highlighter Barbie-inspired pink that featured ruching throughout the length of the dress, and extended into a carpet grazing train.

To make the dress more winter friendly, the actress paired the look with tall black opera gloves, sheer black tights, and extremely pointy black satin pumps. Accessories, meanwhile, came in the form of oversized sparkling earrings and a teardrop shaped ring worn over her opera gloves.

For beauty, Washington—who presented the award for best female actor in a motion picture, musical/comedy category alongside Andrew Garfield—wore her hair bone straight, and loosely gathered it into a ponytail at her shoulder, with the remainder of her hair extending down her back in a long, glossy sheet. To complement the black tones in her outfit, Washington wore a black smokey eye with fluttering lashes, and let the eyeshadow look shine with a neutral lipstick.

Though Washington walked the red carpet solo, she wasn't by herself for the evening. She and her husband Nnamdi Asomugha were spotted at the event together and had a glam date night. To upkeep their privacy, Asomugha also walked the carpet solo, but the pair was spotted at the event hugging and getting cuddly with each other before heading into the venue.
