Delta Goodrem's 'power move' on tour has left fans shocked

Delta Goodrem is currently on a tour for the 20th anniversary of her debut album Innocent Eyes, but one song addition on the set list has left fans shocked.

While Innocent Eyes spawned tracks like Born To Try, Lost Without You, and Predictable, it was Delta's inclusion of Almost Here from her second album Mistaken Identity that had fans talking.

The song, released in 2004, was a duet with ex-fiancé, former Westlife star, Brian McFadden, who Delta dated from 2004 to 2011 before the couple split.

However, Delta did have a special guest doing the duet of Almost Here with her: her now-fiancé Matthew Copley.

Matthew, Delta's guitarist and business partner, joined her on stage to sing Brian's part, the only song he performed vocally.

Fans of the singer-songwriter were left shocked by the bold move.

"I was SHOCKED, I fully turned to the stranger next to me and was like HELLO?! He didn’t sing anything for the entire concert but he sang that. Felt like a power move to me," one fan told Yahoo Lifestyle.

"It was great to hear an old-school banger but definitely weird," another said.

One fan who's been to most of Delta's Australian tours said it's the first time they remember Delta singing the song since 2009, when she was still with Brian.

"They only sang a little bit of the song, but he [Matthew] sang the first bit," the fan explained. "It was a bit weird to hear it initially, but it was pretty cool when I realised what was going on.

"It's a great song, so I enjoyed hearing it live."

Delta recently announced her engagement to long-term boyfriend Matthew after he proposed in Malta after her European tour.

“My best friend asked me to marry him,” she wrote in the caption alongside a ring emoji.

It was later reported her ring was valued at $123,000.

Delta has kept relatively quiet on her love life in latter years, after her whirlwind romance with Nick Jonas in 2011 that followed from her split with Brian.

In previous years, she also dated tennis player Mark Philippoussis in 2004, and Neighbours co-star Blair McDonough in 2003.
