The astonishing cost of Delta Goodrem's engagement ring revealed

She proudly showed off her engagement ring on Instagram as she announced that her partner, Matthew Copley, had popped the question, and now the staggering cost of Delta Goodrem's bling has been revealed.

The Aussie singer-songwriter took to social media on Thursday evening to share that she and Matthew, who works as her guitarist, got engaged while on holiday in Malta.

“My best friend asked me to marry him,” she wrote in the caption alongside a ring emoji.

The first snap shows Delta and Matthew embracing in front of a magnificent seaside view as the sun sets and they enjoy a glass of champagne.

She followed this up with a video of a string quartet playing Elton John’s ‘Your Song’ in the garden surrounded by white rose petals before panning to show her sparkling engagement ring.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Zack Stone, a specialist at UK retailer Steven Stone, estimated that her sparkling diamond ring is worth about $123,000.

He said the 3ct round cut diamond in a solitaire setting is 'timeless' and is 'the most iconic and popular of all diamond shapes'.

'Forever'

Delta’s famous followers quickly flooded her comments section after she announced her engagement online with congratulatory messages from stars such as Sophie Monk, Amy Shark, Samantha Jade, Calum Scott and Natalie Imbruglia.

“Such beautiful news!! So happy for you sweetheart. Huge congrats to you both,” Lisa Wilkinson wrote, followed by Kylie Gillies, who said, “Now THAT’s something to sing about. Congratulations to you both. Marvellous Malta memory right there”.

“Oh my!!! Congratulations you gorgeous pair. I am overjoyed,” Rove McManus replied, while Jessica Origliasso from The Veronicas added, “Congratulations angel!!!!!!! You deserve all the happiness in the universe!!! XX so happy for you both”.

The Voice star Rachael Leahcar, who Delta coached on season one of the reality show, shared: “DIBS ON WEDDING SINGER!!! Congrats girl, that’s so very special and I’m so, so happy for you both! He seems like a lovely chap and you make a gorgeous couple.”

Matthew also left a sweet comment on Delta’s post, writing: “My forever love!”

Delta's relationship history

Delta was previously engaged to Irish pop singer Brian McFadden from 2007 to 2011 and has also dated Nick Jonas and tennis star Mark Philippousiss.

She and Matthew began dating in late 2017, although they have remained rather private about their relationship and never appear on a red carpet together.

The Born to Try hitmaker spoke openly about their romance for the first time in February this year, telling Australian Women's Weekly that they had met through music.

“It's incredible to be on stage with him because he's so talented. We really are a team. He's my best friend, he's kind and a beautiful human being,” she shared.

“I'm very lucky. It's all very natural and I think that comes from a beautiful respect and love. I feel so grateful.”

The couple recently launched their own independent record label called ATLED Records and have co-written a number of tracks together, including Delta’s latest single ‘Back to Your Heart’.
