Days of Our Lives star Cody Longo dies aged 34

The actor's wife confirmed the news with a heartbreaking statement.

Cody Longo, an actor known for performances in Days of Our Lives and Bring It On: Fight to the Finish, has died at the age of 34. Cody's wife Stephanie confirmed the news with a heartbreaking statement that read: "Cody was our whole world. The kids and I are shattered and beyond devastated."

She added, "He was the best dad and best father. We will always and forever miss you and love you."

Cody leaves behind three young children, a seven-year-old daughter and two sons, aged five and one.

A family member told TMZ that Stephanie asked police to perform a wellness check on him on Wednesday when she couldn't get in touch with him. Cody's body was found in a bed at a residence in Austin, Texas.

Police reportedly kicked the door down when they didn't receive a response from Cody.

The source told the publication that Cody struggled with alcohol abuse for years and was in rehab last summer. An official cause of death has not been released.

Stephanie told the gossip site that Cody had been working hard on himself for his children.

The actor was most well-known for his time on Hollywood Heights as Eddie Duran, but also appeared in episodes of Nashville.

He also appeared as Nicky Russo in the teen drama series Make It Or Break It, as well as a few episodes of CSI: NY.

Cody was arrested in 2020 on a domestic assault charge after he reportedly had a fight with his wife, and in 2021 he pleaded guilty to a misdemeanour assault charge for sexually assaulting a nine-year-old.
