Cynthia Erivo continued her method dressing streak for the Golden Globes 2025 on Sunday in Los Angeles. Instead of wearing green in a nod to her “Wicked” character Elphaba, Erivo defied gravity in a sculptural Louis Vuitton gown.

The Louis Vuitton ambassador opted for a plunging gown that put a new spin on florals and consisted of a floating tier that jutted out from her hips. “Green is Elphaba’s color,” Erivo said on the red carpet, “But what she wears a lot is black, so I’ve been trying to mess around with the shapes and structure of black dresses. We’ve been playing around with it, and bringing green in occasionally.”
Erivo was styled by Jason Bolden, who also works with Nicole Kidman and Taylor Zakhar Perez. Bolden collaborated with Erivo during the entire press tour of “Wicked,” with the actress often embracing method dressing in looks by Louis Vuitton, Carolina Herrera, Salon 1884, Jean Paul Gaultier and Marc Jacobs, among others.
Erivo completed the look with FoundRae jewelry. Beauty-wise, she embraced a winged eyeliner and lined lip, courtesy of Joanna Simkin for Benefit. Erivo also wore nail art in the vein of the City of Oz and Elphaba-inspired nail art she’s worn on her “Wicked” press tour. For the Golden Globes 2025, Erivo’s nail art consisted of gem-topped nails in green and pink — a nod to Ariana Grande’s “Wicked” character Glinda. Erivo revealed on the red carpet that her nails took five hours to perfect ahead of the Golden Globes.
