Chrishell Stause reveals Neighbours character's 'secret motive': 'Very juicy'
Chrishell is joining the Aussie soap as the glamorous Yasmine Shields.
Chrishell Stause appeared on The Project on Tuesday night and revealed more about her character on Neighbours. The 42-year-old actress and real estate agent will appear on the show as Yasmine Shields, though the star revealed everyone on the show calls her 'Yas'.
When Waleed Aly asked how she was finding Ramsay Street, Chrishell responded, "Oh my gosh, you guys, we've got a lot of really juicy stuff coming up. But I will say, Ramsay Street is a little cold lately, it's been a little rainy, but I feel like it's bonded me very quickly with the cast. Everyone is so lovely and so amazing, and they work so hard. I'm excited."

Sarah Harris then pushed for some more inside goss on Chrishell's character, with the star saying, "Her name is Yasmine Shields, but everyone calls her Yas, she's a very glamorous, intelligent lighting director, who is bringing a very exciting lighting show to Erinsborough."
She added, "It may not come as a surprise, she obviously has a secret motive, but I can't let you know what that is, but it is very juicy. And, of course, she may accidentally get distracted with a little bit of love along the way!"
"That would be a first!" Waleed quipped.

Chrishell added that she was very thankful the character is American because her Australian accent needs some work.
"Did they ask you to do an Australian accent?" Sam Taunton asked.
"I would've been fired immediately," she joked. "I can't do an Australian accent, I wouldn't even try. So, you're all safe, I'm going to be playing an American, don't worry."

"If you were English, we would assume that you knew Neighbours, and loved Neighbours, of course you're not English, had you ever heard of Neighbours before?" Waleed asked as Chrishell grimaced.
"I'm afraid to answer this, truthfully, we don't have it in America, so I hadn't," she admitted. "But all of my UK friends and Aussie friends are so passionate about the show. And it reminds me of shows that I've done in America, like All My Children, Days of Our Lives, and people really grow up with those shows. And that is something that's very familiar to me, so I'm excited to join and bring a little American flair."
