Stapleton's most recent album release was 2023's Higher. The record is nominated for best country album at the upcoming Grammy Awards — and "It Takes a Woman" is nominated for best country solo performance.
Last year, the "You Should Probably Leave" performer also appeared on Post Malone's country album F-1 Trillion. Together, performed their collaboration "California Sober" at the 2024 CMA Awards in November. At that same award show, Stapleton won two awards for song of the year and single of the year for "White Horse."
Later that month, the "Tennessee Whiskey" singer made headlines when a teen said he visited her after she was the sole survivor of a crash that took the lives of her grandmother, father and younger sister.
Per FOX 4 Kansas City, 19-year-old Alex Moffett was on her way to one of Stapleton's shows during the car crash. When her doctors heard the family trip was mostly for a Stapleton concert, one of her surgeons was able to get in contact with the musician and share her story.
“We were supposed to just have a FaceTime with him and they called and were like we are in really bad service, we’ll call you back in a few minutes,” she said before revealing the surprise. “Like a minute later, we got a knock on my door and they just came in.”
During his visit, Stapleton sang "Traveller," which he wrote after the death of his own father.
