Channing Tatum says he spent the day in the bathroom after swallowing pool water during a party in Mexico.

The actor and his fiancée, Zoé Kravitz shared the story with Buzzfeed while promoting their psychological thriller Blink Twice, which filmed in Mexico. The film is Kravitz's directorial debut — and has been favorably compared to the hit Get Out.

“Remember we had that party, Chan, and you and [costar] Simon [Rex] were both wrestling in the pool, and then you guys swallowed pool water,” said Kravitz, 35. “But we are in Mexico. And you were puking.”

“For 12 hours,” said Tatum, 44, with a vacant expression on his face. “I couldn’t leave the bathroom.”

“The doctor had to come and give me a shot in the butt to make it all okay,” he added.

“It was a sick party,” Kravitz quipped with a laugh.

And as the travel guide Fodor’s points out, when in Mexico, “remember not to drink tap water or ice that’s made from it. Mexicans themselves don’t consume tap water: it is the top per-capita consumer of bottled water (8 in 10 Mexicans drink from bottles.)”

Although it’s not clear what Tatum's “shot in the butt” contained, there are medications taken by injection that can help relieve nausea or vomiting, the Mayo Clinic says.

And if you “have more than four loose stools a day or severe symptoms, including a fever or blood, pus or mucus in your stools, a doctor may prescribe a course of antibiotics,” notes the Mayo Clinic.
