Christina Ricci is now a permanent part of Hollywood history, and she's not letting anyone forget it.

"I know I'm here and my career has thrived as it has only because of the belief others had in me, and the work and support they were willing to offer me," Ricci said at today's ceremony unveiling her brand new star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

"I'm only here, and will forever now be here at Hollywood [Blvd.] and Argyle [Ave.]. I'm going to haunt my star when I die, so I'll just always be here," she joked, evoking memories of her early-career role in supernatural family comedy Casper. Ricci quickly returned to sincerity and reiterated, "I'm only here because of the incredible people in my life who have traveled this road with me. I'm so grateful, and so honored, and so incredibly moved."

Today's ceremony was emceed by ABC7's Sophie Flay and introduced by Sarah Zurell, board chair of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, which determines the stars who are commemorated with stars on the Walk of Fame.

Among the speakers were Ricci's Monster director Patty Jenkins, who praised Ricci for giving "such an incredibly brave performance... you took the unglamorous, unlikeable role and played it with such commitment, and it's such a stunning performance."

Emmy-winning actor Dan Bucatinsky, who wrote the screenplay for the 2001 film All Over the Guy, starring Ricci and directed by Bucatinsky's husband Don Roos, recalled taking Ricci in as a wild 17-year-old after the film wrapped. "Christina stayed with us for a little over three months and really became like family — the Addams family, where Don and I were the monsters and she was the blonde Wednesday." He described his 25-year relationship with the actress as "closer to brother and sister" than friends.

The ceremony was also attended by Ricci's Yellowjackets costars Tawny Cypress, Liv Hewson, Melanie Lynskey, Nia Sondaya, Ashley Sutton, and Sophie Thatcher, plus Lynskey's husband, Jason Ritter.

Ricci made her screen debut in the 1990 family drama Mermaids opposite Cher and Winona Ryder, when she was only nine years old. Before she was 18 she'd already appeared in more iconic films with substantial cultural staying power than most actors ever dream of, including The Addams Family, Now and Then, The Ice Storm, and Buffalo '66.

In a previous interview reflecting on her meteoric rise to fame in the '90s, Ricci admitted that she "would just like to go back to that age and do it over again and not make so many f---ing mistakes."

"Honestly, I regret so much. I'd like to go back to 1996 and be like, 'All right… we had a practice run. It went okay, but it wasn't really as great as we wanted it to be," she told The Hollywood Reporter in 2022. "We're going to do this again.' People who are like, 'I have no regrets.' What f---ing magic life did you live?" she continued.

But at today's Walk of Fame ceremony, Ricci expressed nothing but gratitude to still be here, to be enjoying the success of being in the central cast of Yellowjackets, one of the most popular shows on streaming, and to have the people who helped her get here by her side. "This is just such a truly incredible honor, and I'm so moved by it," adding one more sly joke: "Surprisingly, because I don't feel much."
