Cara and Anya Just Channeled Romy and Michele at the Golden Globes

Hi, so if you're one of the many people who saw Cara Delevingne and Anya Taylor-Joy at the 2025 Golden Globes together and thought, "Omg, are they dating?"...we're here to set the record straight. No, these two are NOT an item—and both are actually taken at the moment. (Cara has been dating musician Minke since 2022, and Anya is married to musician Malcolm McRae.) However, Cara and Anya are very close pals, and their friendship goes back further than you might realize.

June 17, 2021

Cara and Anya are both guests at a Dior show in Athens, Greece, where they instantly click...and also rock the same shoes.

A few days later, Cara takes to IG to give a shout-out to her new friend.

"Find people that will tell you when you have something in your teeth and when you need it most, tell you things you may not want to hear," she writes. "Connection is the only way we can learn and grow so be the women that fixes another women’s crown (dress) instead of pointing out that it was crooked."

She concludes her caption with, "Also wearing the same thing as someone else only means you have good taste..."

Anya shares a snapshot of herself in a bathrobe in what appears to be a gym locker room and credits her "fellow fire" Cara for the pic so...I guess they're hanging out! (For the record: Anya and Cara are both fire signs, since Anya is an Aries and Cara is a Leo.)

Nothing to see here, just two friends...Jell-O wrestling? In animal onesies?

Anya later explains this puzzling photo during a March 2022 interview with British Vogue. "For Emmy night, Cara very sweetly asked me what I wanted to do, and I said I wanted to Jell-O wrestle," she says. Makes sense to me!

November 10, 2021

The pals reunite at the 2021 CFDA Awards in NYC, where they snap a couple of cute pics together.

Best of all, Cara gets to present Anya with the Face of the Year Award, which is a sweet moment.

And Cara has a LOT of kind words for her friend, which she shares later on Instagram. Just a lil snippet of her caption: "I am so lucky to know the woman behind the face and her beauty radiates as brightly when your eyes are closed."

Anya then comments, "You are everything. Thank you baby munchkin."

Ofc, Anya takes to Instagram to give Cara a shout-out back, calling her "the epic force that is my love."

March 5, 2022

The inevitable dating rumors start swirling around Anya and Cara due to their close friendship, but a source for The Mirror says the two are "just good friends."

As the insider explains, "Cara thinks Anya is amazing and says she is deep and philosophical, but with a wicked sense of humor. They have a lot in common and have really intense conversations, but also laugh all the time."

The source also adds, "Cara and Anya have been hanging out a lot in L.A. and New York, but it’s tough to coordinate schedules. Anya has been busy filming in England and she owns a house in London, but Cara is trying to convince her to settle in Los Angeles so they can see more of each other."

Anya secretly ties the knot with Malcolm McRae in a (very!) intimate New Orleans ceremony. However, she doesn't share the news until two years later, when she posts a series of pics on IG. Oh, and based on the pics, it looks like Cara is possibly her maid of honor! (See the third slide.)

"Two years ago, on April Fools, I secretly married my best friend in New Orleans," Anya captions the post. "The magic of that day is ingrained in every cell of my being, forever. Happy second (first) anniversary my love…you’re the coolest."

She also gives photo cred to Cara, who was clearly an integral part of the intimate celebration.

The friends are spotted walking arm-in-arm on day one of the Glastonbury Festival in England.

Then they're spotted again on day four of the festival...

...and yet again on day five.

And at the end of the festival, Anya posts a photo dump featuring several photos of herself and Cara with the caption, "My heart is full, my voice is gone and I want to keep dancing forever. Love youuuuu."

Anya brings Cara as her date to the 2025 Golden Globes, where they stun in blue and pink.

And also accidentally pay homage to the '90s classic Romy and Michele's High School Reunion. In case you don't get the reference:

When asked about the lookalike dresses by Variety on the red carpet, per People, Anya says, "We did it by accident, but we're now going for, 'It's on purpose.'"

"It was a lucky mistake," Cara adds.

Later (after they hit the Globes after-parties with Zoë Kravitz), Anya posts some BTS pics from the big day, which she captions, "te amo mi dulce de leche." Translation: "I love you, my sweet milk." Okay!
