Cafe slammed over 'un-Australian' serving of Vegemite on toast
A Sydney cafe is being slammed online after a customer shared a photo of their piece of toast on Saturday, with some labeling it 'un-Australian' due to the tiny amount of Vegemite.
The outraged customer shared the snap on Reddit, writing, "Vegemite on toast from a cafe," adding a sad smiley face.
Reddit users weren't afraid to hold back their criticism with one user writing, "They f***ed up every step. Not enough toasting, not enough butter, not enough Vegemite."
"I always wondered how badly you can f**k up Vegemite on toast, we have a new leader," another joked.
"It’s un-Australian!" a third added.

"Someone just wiped their knife clean," someone else wrote.
"Said it before I'll say it again," one passionate Vegemite fan began. "Butter on hot toast, edge to edge. Let it melt. Cover with Vegemite edge to edge. If you can see butter that's a personal choice. If you can see bread you've failed at Vegemite toast."
"My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined," another joked.
"Inflation is tough. Restaurants are trying to make their condiments last for the next decade," one user quipped.
"If I got that after paying money to a cafe I would go back and ask for a refund. Vegemite isn't that expensive is it?" someone else wrote, with another replying, "A refund? I’d sue for emotional damages and acts against the Commonwealth."
"Did you ask for rare? I always ask for well done," yet another joked.
"That’s why you always carry extra Vegemite," one user added as a solution.
Many others joked that they'd call the police and report it as a crime, while some thought the cafe must be one for tourists "who can't handle a proper serving".
