This New British Crime Series Is A Top Show On Netflix Right Now
“Missing You” is currently the second most popular show on Netflix, according to the platform’s public ranking system.
Adapted from a 2014 Harlan Coben novel, this new British crime series premiered on Jan. 1 ― exactly one year after Coben’s last adaptation “Fool Me Once” dropped on Netflix. “Missing You” follows a detective who discovers her fiancé on a dating app more than a decade after he disappeared.
Told over five episodes, the show stars Rosalind Eleazar, Jessica Plummer, Richard Armitage, Ashley Walters and Lenny Henry.

“Lockerbie: A Search for Truth”
Another new British show is trending on Peacock at the moment ― “Lockerbie: A Search for Truth.” Released on Jan. 2, the limited drama series stars Colin Firth and is based on the 2021 book “The Lockerbie Bombing: A Father’s Search for Justice” by Jim Swire and Peter Biddulph.
As the title suggests, the show explores Swire’s pursuit of justice for their daughter Flora and the other victims of Pan Am Flight 103, which was destroyed by a bomb while flying over the town of Lockerbie in Scotland.
“The Secret Lives of Animals”
One of the most popular shows on Apple TV+ right now is “The Secret Lives of Animals.”
Narrated by Hugh Bonneville, the nature docuseries premiered on Dec. 18 and consists of 10 episodes showcasing different species around the world through themes like “Raising a Family” and “The Art of Deception.”
“Shining Vale”
The satirical horror comedy “Shining Vale” joined Max on Jan. 1, about a year after the show was canceled by Starz.
Created by Sharon Horgan and Jeff Astrof, the two-season series follows a dysfunctional family who moves from a big city to a small town into a house where horrible atrocities occurred. “Shining Vale” stars Courteney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Sherilyn Fenn, Mira Sorvino, Merrin Dungey and Judith Light.
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition”
“Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” is currently trending on Hulu following the show’s return for an 11th season on Jan. 2.
Clea Shearer and Joanna Teplin ― founders of the popular home organizing company “The Home Edit” ― have joined the franchise as co-hosts for the new season. The reality show, which has previously faced criticism for financial and ethical issues, presents home remodels to families who have faced hardship.
