The group—featuring members will.i.amapl.de.ap and Taboo—announced the disappointing news on their Instagram Stories on Sunday, Jan. 19, while ensuring fans that tickets would be refunded in full.

"To our dearest Peabodies," they began the solemn announcement. "It is with a heavy heart that, in light of current circumstances, our Las Vegas shows will not be moving forward as planned."

A more specific reason for the cancellation was not provided.

The "Where Is the Love?" artists were supposed to play shows at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's PH Live in Las Vegas throughout February, March and May.

Tickets went on sale in September 2024 for the highly-anticipated show, titled Black Eyed Peas: 3008 The Las Vegas Experience. The show was also expected to feature an AI-created hologram performer named Vida.

Their post continued, "Ticket providers will issue full refunds automatically. Stay tuned for updates on future performances by following us—we can’t wait to see you again."

When the residency was first announced, the group revealed that their inspiration for the boundary-pushing show came from none other than music superstar Taylor Swift, who turned will.i.am into a "Swiftie on steroids" with one of her Eras Tour performances.

"I left like, 'Yo, we definitely doing Vegas. Let's do it.' Because I got pumped. I haven't been that inspired. I don't know when's the last time I was inspired to be like, 'Yo, oh, bro let’s imagination together,'" will.i.am told the hosts of SiriusXM's Hits 1 Miami with Mack and Jen back in December 2024.

"That's how transfixed I was to that Taylor Swift show," he added. "And then from there I called our management like, 'Yo, that Vegas offer still there? Say yes to it… I just came from [the] Taylor Swift show and we’re gonna do it.' I've been freaking, like, energized and inspired. So thank you Swift."
