Former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton joins Neighbours: 'Coming soon'

Former Bachelorette Brooke Blurton has shared some major news with her followers teasing that she's joining iconic Aussie soap Neighbours.

The 27-year-old, who recently split from her partner from the show Darvid Garayeli, shared a photo on Instagram of herself smiling in front of a green wall beneath a neon sign that reads Neighbours.

Brooke is of course no stranger to being in front of cameras having featured in three different seasons of the Bachelor franchise.

A spokesperson for Network 10 confirmed in a statement to Yahoo Lifestyle that Brooke will make a guest appearance on Neighbours in the coming months.

"She will be appearing as herself as a guest at one of the Fashion Festival events in an upcoming storyline," they said.

"Brooke will appear in scenes with Neighbours legends Alan Fletcher, Jackie Woodburne, Stefan Dennis, Ryan Moloney, Rebekah Elmaloglou and Lucinda Cowden."

Her fans were ecstatic about the news, taking to the comments to share their excitement.

"Oh wow, amazing," one person commented.

"OH MY GOD!!! Well I’m going to go back to watching Neighbours now," another said.

Fellow Bachelor alumn Alisha Aitken-Radburn wrote: "STOP!"

The news comes as viewers rally behind the iconic Aussie soap after UK’s Channel 5 recently announced that it had been dropped from their TV schedule after 37 years.

Not only had Channel 5 provided a steady audience for Neighbours abroad, with one million viewers reportedly tuning in across two daily showings in the UK, but it has also helped fund the show in recent years.

"Wasn't this show cancelled," one person quipped on Brooke's post, to which she responded: "It is 😢 but why not #sendit 😂😂."

Filming on the Aussie soap was said to come to an end in June unless Channel 10 and Fremantle Media could work out how to move forward.

A Network 10 spokesperson previously said: “As outlined in the email to Neighbours cast and crew, it is our intention to continue our association with Neighbours if another broadcast partner comes forward.

“Network 10 has an ongoing commitment to the show, the cast and crew and is hopeful that Fremantle will find a new production partner. We will provide further updates as they become available.”
