Bachelor favourite stuns fans with engagement announcement: 'Special'

Season nine star Carlie Hodges shared the exciting news on Thursday afternoon.

The Bachelor star Carlie Hodges has announced that she and her partner Charlie Bangs are engaged after almost two years of dating.

The 36-year-old lawyer, who made it to the top four of Jimmy Nicholson’s season in 2021, took to Instagram on Thursday afternoon to share the exciting news.

She posted a gallery of snaps of herself and Charlie during their holiday in Port Douglas visiting the beach, going snorkelling, and enjoying a rainforest tour.

“The first few days in Port Douglas have been pretty special!” she captioned the post alongside a ring emoji.

Carlie’s followers quickly took to the comments to congratulate her on the news, including a number of her season nine co-stars.

“Mr & Mrs BANGS,” Holly Kingston wrote, followed by Lily Price who said, “Mr & Mrsssssss never looked so good!”.

“Hehehehehe I love this. Adore you both,” Tahnee Leeson replied, while Stephanie Lynch added, “Congrats Carlie!!”.

Carlie and Charlie first started dating in November 2021, a few months after her season of The Bachelor finished airing, and made their relationship ‘Instagram official’ a month later.

She has also since relocated from her hometown of Melbourne to live with him in Sydney.

Carlie has also remained close friends with Jimmy Nicholson and his winner Holly Kingston since filming the reality show and will even serve as a bridesmaid at their wedding in August.

Jimmy and Holly are set to be the seventh couple to walk down the aisle after finding love through The Bachelor franchise after Tim Robards and Anna Heinrich, Sam and Snezana Wood, Georgia Love and Lee Elliot, Matty Johnson and Laura Byrne, Locky and Irena Gilbert, and Alisha Aitken-Radburn and Glenn Smith.
