Baby Reindeer fans are sure this woman is the real Martha and now she's speaking out: 'I've had death threats'
Fiona Harvey, who people believe is the subject of Richard Gadd's Baby Reindeer, has broken her silence about the hit Netflix series.
Baby Reindeer has very quickly become one of those shows we cannot stop talking about, with many fans sharing on social media how deeply it has affected them. Written by comedian Richard Gadd, who also stars in the series, the story follows his real-life experience of being relentlessly stalked by a woman named Martha Scott (played by Jessica Gunning) in the screen adaptation.
Richard never revealed Martha's true identity - or if she served any jail time in real life - but internet sleuths were quick to dig into the social media archives and find someone they claim is the real-life subject of the series. That person is a woman named Fiona Harvey who has now spoken out about Baby Reindeer and the claims that she was Richard's stalker.
In a long post written on her Facebook, Fiona says, "Richard gadd who is not known to Me wrote a show four or five years ago for the festival fringe called baby reindeer it would appear to be popular on Netflix now among twenty something's with no brain.

"I do not follow the rantings of richard gadd or failed comedians like him. I have no idea what he's said apart from A few quotes thrown at me this week by other people."
She goes on to say Richard was a barman at the Hawley Arms in Camden where she once lives but no longer does, calling the bar a 'horrific joint.'
Says Fiona in her post, "I've had death threats from richard gadd supporters on here this week. I've had vile stalking and abusive threats. I know nothing about richard gadd apart from His sorry little life story I listened to on a sophie hagan podcast he did with her when baby reindeer came out."
She then goes on to claim that Richard was, in fact, the one to ask her out and then stalk her after she turned him down.
"Sorry I'm Not interested," she writes. "Some people just can't take rejection! But to defame me all over the internet is quote [sic] another thing."
Fans don't believe Fiona Harvey
Fiona's post has been shared more than 500 times (at the time of writing) with people posting her remarks on social media and noting the contradictions in her story.
"I just saw this and this is crazy," one person wrote under a screen shot of her comments on X. "How can you say you don’t know someone and then immediately after that start basically explaining that you do? I think it’s got to be her."
"Holy sh*t she even types like her," another said.
Another teased, "That's her story, and she's sticking to it!"
The part that social media users can't get past is that Fiona's X account (formerly Twitter), while inactive now, shows tweets sent to Richard Gadd in 2014.
In one, she has asked him if he received her emails or if she is using the wrong address, in another she urges people to go and see his show citing that he has a 'fantastic ass.'
So who is the real Martha Scott?
While the character of Martha Scott is inspired by the woman who stalked him for four and a half years, Gadd hasn't confirmed her identity for legal reasons, so Scott's real identity remains undisclosed. This means claims that it is Fiona Harvey are purely speculative.
Taking to his Instagram account, Richard Gadd has also urged fans not to take it so far with a plea posted to his stories.
"Hi Everyone," he wrote. "People I love, have worked with and admire (including Sean Foley) are unfairly getting caught up in speculation. Please don't speculate on who any of the real-life people could be. That's not the point of our show. Lots of love, Richard."

Gadd, who both stars in and wrote the series, drew from his own harrowing experience, during which his stalker sent him thousands of messages and physical items, including 41,071 emails, 350 hours of voicemail, 744 tweets, 46 Facebook messages, and 106 pages of letters, along with a woolly hat, underwear, sleeping pills, and a stuffed cuddly reindeer toy.
