Ariana Grande’s fans believed her latest red carpet look might have been just the ticket to defy gravity as she arrived for the 2025 Critics Choice Awards on Friday, Feb. 7.
The singer and actress posed for photos shortly after arriving at this year’s event, which kicked off Friday afternoon at The Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif.
Grande, 31, wore a sheer beige dress that featured matching flowery detailing on the shoulders and on its hoop skirt. Fringe that was the same beige color trailed off the edges of the skirt and stretched down to the floor, just brushing the tops of the black heels that Grande paired with the ensemble. The dress was identified as a Dior piece, according to Elle.
Fans overwhelmingly applauded the Wicked star’s fashion pick online as photos and videos of Grande walking the red carpet began appearing on social media.
“OMG ARIANA LOOKS STUNNING,” one fan wrote on Instagram in response to a video that the awards show shared of the actress.
“So fab,” another Instagram user agreed while a third declared, “she’s gorgeous.”
Fans on X, formerly Twitter, echoed the positive opinions, with one exclaiming, “STUNNING” as another wrote, “she’s gorgeous omg.”
Another fan underlined the praise for Grande’s dress as they tweeted, “long live mimi this is a hit.”
Even fans who weren’t as convinced that the look was a home run found a way to spin their reactions in a positive way, as seen in a tweet posted by one person who wrote, “wait it’s giving tumbleweed but cute.”
Grande arrived at this year’s ceremony with one nomination in the Best Supporting Actress category for her role as Glinda in 2024’s Wicked. The movie musical received 11 Critics Choice Awards nominations in all.
