Angelina Jolie Reveals Where She Stands with Ex-Husband Jonny Lee Miller 26 Years After Divorce

Angelina Jolie maintains a "wonderful" relationship with ex-husband Jonny Lee Miller over 25 years after their breakup.

On Wednesday, Feb. 5, the actress, 49, attended the Santa Barbara International Film Festival in Santa Barbara, Calif., for a conversation about her life and career as she received the Maltin Modern Master award.

During a Q&A with critic Leonard Maltin, Jolie and an audience were shown a clip from her past films, including the 1995 movie Hackers, in which she starred with Miller, whom Jolie later married in 1996.

"I was just saying to somebody, it's really funny because I think you're starting with Hackers, right?" Jolie said, before the clip was played. "Yeah, it's Jonny. I just talked to him. I love that — I get to see my ex-husband with 2,000 people."

Jolie and Miller, who divorced in 1999, starred as high school-aged computer experts in Hackers. "Amazing. It’s so nice to see it," Jolie said in reaction after the clip was played. "Actually, it's funny, I don't really watch my own films, and so I [don't] think I've seen it since the premiere. But I do have a wonderful relationship with Jonny, and he and I have sons the same age and I'm so happy."

After Jolie and Miller's marriage, Miller was married to actress Michele Hicks between 2008 and 2016; they share son Buster, whom they welcomed in December 2008. She went on to marry and divorce actors Billy Bob Thornton and Brad Pitt.

Jolie was seen visiting Miller's apartment building during a trip she took to New York City with her six children in June 2021. A source shared at that time that Miller's son Buster and Jolie's son Knox, now 16, are friends and were together the same night Jolie was seen at Miller's home.

Hackers also starred Jesse Bradford, Matthew Lillard, Fisher Stevens, Lorraine Bracco and Marc Anthony. The film's director Iain Softley told Collider in a 2020 interview that the idea of a sequel to the cult classic was "being explored" at that time.

"It was a much more simple landscape at the time, in 1994. It's much more complex [now]," Softley said of a sequel in 2020. "It's much more dangerous that it would become outdated almost as soon as the film's released."
