Amy Robach is addressing speculation surrounding her and T.J. Holmes' marital status.

In the "Uncuffing Season" episode of the Amy & T.J. Podcast released on Friday, Jan. 24, Robach recalled the "funny" time her mother, Joan, questioned if she and Holmes secretly got married because they both wear Oura rings on their ring fingers. Now, Robach is setting the record straight.

After being sent the wellness rings from the health technology company, the couple decided to each wear them on their right-hand ring finger. When Robach's parents visited them "a couple weeks ago," they began "watching" and "observing" the pair. That's when Joan asked her daughter "a personal question."

"She said, 'I noticed the rings that you and T.J. are wearing, and I know that they're like exercise rings. And I see that you have them on your right finger, but did you two get secretly married?' " Robach recalled her mother asking.

"She actually thought that it was possible," Robach continued on her podcast. "We had and just hadn't told anyone."

Holmes added: "Well, based on recent history with us, she wouldn't be surprised if we ran off and did something and didn't tell her. I think that that was a legit question."

Robach's parents didn't learn of Robach and Holmes' relationship until they were sent an article about the news via a text from their daughter. So, they didn't think it would be that far off for the Oura rings to double up as a sign they secretly tied the knot.

This speculation prompted Robach to consider how she'd handle a marriage announcement.

"I said, 'Well, funny enough, if and when it does happen, that's probably how it will happen. You'll find out after the fact,' " Robach responded, to which she said her mother replied, "That makes sense."

Robach noted that she doesn't plan to say "I do" any time soon. At least, not publicly.

"It's not as if I have any plans to walk down the aisle and pick out my wedding colors and, you know, have a florist involved," she said. "I said, 'It is probably gonna be one of those moments where you get a phone call from me. But I won't keep you in the dark for too long.' "

Robach and Holmes first sparked dating rumors in November 2022. Their romance made headlines because Robach was married to actor Andrew Shue at the time, while Holmes was married to attorney Marilee Fiebig. However, a source told PEOPLE that there was no overlap between the anchors’ romance and their respective marriages.

After divorcing their previous partners and publicizing their relationship, the ex-GMA3 co-anchors hit many relationship milestones, including moving in together and discussing marriage.
