"That's Her REAL LIFE MOM?!": Over 7 Million People Are Talking About "Reverse Nepotism" After Learning Who Margaret Qualley's Mom Is
Actor Margaret Qualley has gained attention for her role as Sue in The Substance — and she is also well known for starring in the Netflix series Maid.
But, now, a little surprise about Margaret has been thrown into the mix...
People have discovered that Andie MacDowell is her mother — and how the pair are now experiencing the OPPOSITE of nepotism.
Andie MacDowell started her career as a model for Calvin Klein and is known for flicks like Groundhog Day in the '90s and, currently, The Way Home series on the Hallmark channel.

So, while promoting the upcoming season, Andie sat down with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show.
While being interviewed, Andie started talking about her daughter, Margaret, who she had with former model and rancher Paul Qualley.
After she and Jimmy started talking about how much Margaret has been crushing it with her career lately, Andie said, "She takes so many chances; she is so much braver than I could have ever been. She really carved her own road, and I am super, super proud of her."
And Jimmy chimed in, wanting more clarity about something they had discussed before coming on set. "Wait. You were telling me backstage you're experiencing something called 'reverse nepotism,'" he explained to the audience.
Andie then elaborated on the term, saying, "You know they always accuse the children of...but I'm now cool because I'm Margaret Qualley's mom."
"...And also Jack Antonoff's mother-in-law! So, it's a double whammy. I get letters in the mailbox, 'I think you're wonderful!' And, you know, they're 13!"
And we have proof of the reverse nepotism Andie is referring to! If you didn't know, Margot Robbie was the executive producer of Maid, and Margaret actually called Margot to ask if she could cast Andie as her mom in the show, and she did.
The clip about reverse nepotism was shared on TikTok, and it has gone viral with over 7 million views. (Mostly because people are still in shock to learn she is Margaret's mom.)
Either way, Andie seems to be basking in this newly-found "reverse nepotism" experience in Hollywood...and it is clear people would love to now see Margaret pitch her to play Mother Gothel in a live-action Tangled.
