Aldi shoppers panic as wildly popular cleaning range disappears from shelves: 'Discontinued?'

Aldi fans have voiced their disappointment after popular products suddenly disappeared off shelves in several supermarkets across the country.

The retailer's Di-San laundry range has offered standout products for years, with shoppers praising the stain remover for its cleaning power and its budget price of just $2.15.

But customers recently shared their dismay at not being able to find Di-San items in stores for some weeks, particularly the Pro Ultra Degreaser sold in a pink bottle.

One customer who was desperately searching for the "miracle" cleaning spray revealed she had visited more than a dozen stores in the hope of finding it. "Does anyone know if they still make this?" the shopper asked in a Facebook group for Aldi fans. "I've been to 12 different stores in New South Wales and three in Queensland and it's always an empty spot. I've almost run out."

'Can't get it'

Several other shoppers shared similar experiences, saying they hadn't been able to buy the spray for months. "Same here on the mid-coast of NSW. Hasn't been on the shelf for numerous weeks."

"We haven't had any for many months now. I thought they have stopped selling it," another frustrated shopper commented. Some Di-San fans in Melbourne and Adelaide reported having trouble getting it too.

"Any idea if it's discontinued?" one customer asked, while another said this was indeed the case, stating, "I asked the checkout operator yesterday and it has been discontinued. Seriously why would you discontinue a number-one item?"

"They better not discontinue it or there will be hell to pay it is just the best pre-soaker there is," stated another customer. "I've got two in my cupboard, I'll treat them like liquid gold," responded someone else. "Why would you no longer have such a good product? Can't understand this. Anything good goes."

Aldi responds

An Aldi spokesperson confirmed to Yahoo Lifestyle that despite the Di-San product being hard to come by, it is still part of the store's cleaning range.

"This award-winning product has been a customer favourite for many years, winning Aldi's People's Picks award three years in a row, and we can assure our customers it is certainly not discontinued," the spokesperson said.

Aldi confirmed that the product was "in huge demand" and that customers should once again see it available in stores soon.

The popular item developed a cult-like following after shoppers discovered it not only cleans clothes but works wonders on tiles, ovens, showers, carpet and even mould in cars.
