Yahoo Lifestyle ‘Abbott Elementary’ Cast Coordinated With Shoulder-baring Styles on the Emmy Awards 2024 Red Carpet
The teachers of “Abbott Elementary” attended the 76th Primetime Emmy Awards in Los Angeles on Sunday, showcasing a unified sense of style with bare shoulders in strapless and halter dresses.

The star and creator of “Abbott Elementary” wore a black strapless dress from George Chakra’s fall 2024 couture collection. The dress played with texture, featuring pointed details. A liquid-look material wrapped around the bodice, with a horizontal striped, slightly matte layer peeking out from the center of the bust and streaming down one side. Two large black bows, one at the hip and another at the knees, cinched the liquid layer together.

Sheryl Lee Ralph
Sheryl Lee Ralph, nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series for her role as kindergarten teacher Barbara Howard, wore custom Versace. The black, full-length dress featured a bow where two straps joined. She styled her hair in a sleek ponytail and accessorized with silver hoop earrings and a bracelet. The look was styled by her daughter, Ivy Coco Maurice.
Lisa Ann Walter
Lisa Ann Walter, who plays second-grade teacher Melissa Schemmenti in the series, chose a strapless white gown with a thigh-high slit on one leg. A chartreuse sash with sheen draped across the bodice, around her upper arms and wrapped around her waist, trailing alongside her. She completed the look with an updo and strappy heels that peeked out from underneath the dress.
Janelle James
Janelle James, who plays the school’s principal Ava, arrived on the red carpet in a red one-shoulder dress by Marchesa. The ruffled gown featured flower-like gatherings at the shoulder and hip, with a full-length skirt and a knee-length slit. She wore her hair down and accessorized with black strappy sandals and drop earrings.
Tyler James Williams
James William adhered to the shoulder-baring theme with a black sleeveless button-down featuring vertical stripes down the center and a starburst brooch at the collar. The shirt, untucked, had two pointed tails resembling a vest. He finished the look with gold and silver rings and shiny black laceless shoes.
“Abbot Elementary” is nominated for six trophies at the Primetime Emmy Awards, including Best Comedy Series, Best Directing for a Comedy Series and Best Writing for a Comedy Series. Brunson, Williams, Ralph and Janelle James were also nominated individually for acting awards.
