Channel Ten star jumps ship to Nine following mass axings
The Traitor's host Rodger Corser is set to host a new reality show on Channel Nine in 2025.
In more bad news for Channel 10, host of The Traitors, Rodger Corser, is set to jump ship to Channel Nine for a brand new reality series. Though the announcement has been kept hidden, Yahoo Lifestyle can exclusively reveal that Rodger Corser is set to host a new competition game series titled The Floor, with Channel Nine swooping in to steal the actor and presenter "from underneath Network 10's noses" according to our source.
An industry insider told Yahoo Lifestyle that The Traitors Australia was being looked at again for another season, but Rodger's move to Channel Nine has killed any hope that a third Australian series would continue.
As for the new reality show on Nine that Rodger is now set to host, The Floor is described as being a "game based around a floor grid of 81 squares, each of which is occupied by a contestant with expertise in a different trivia category. Pairs of contestants face each other in head-to-head trivia duels, with the winner taking over all territory controlled by the loser."

The series boasts worldwide popularity with Rob Lowe hosting the US version, and the insider says Rodger "fit the brief perfectly". "Nine didn't really want anyone else," they said. "The Floor is going to be massive and Nine are thrilled to have Rodger on contract."
Channel 10 faces major losses as shows axed
With The Traitors on shaky ground following Rodger's departure, Yahoo Lifestyle understands Endemol Shine Australia had been looking for a new location for the show. "It was also a conversation that was happening with Rodger's management," our source disclosed.
The bad news for Channel 10 comes after the axing of other shows that used to be popular on the network, including the following:
Gladiators (1995-1996, 2008, 2024)
The Bachelor (2013-2023)
Studio 10 (2013-2023)
The Masked Singer (2019-2023)
The Traitors (2022-2023)
Would I Lie To You? Australia (2022-2023)
The Real Love Boat (2022)

Big Brother returns to 10, Channel Seven sends legal letter
The network recently hosted their Upfronts, announcing the return of Big Brother to their platform after its run on Channel Seven for the past four years. However, TV Tonight reported that a legal letter was sent by Channel Seven to production company Endemol Shine Australia after it was included in the announcement, as Channel Seven still has a "hold back" on the format until mid-2025.
A hold back prevents negotiations commencing with another broadcaster, until the finish date of the hold back. "You can’t start production in the middle. You can’t be casting, you can’t be announcing hosts. You can’t be announcing deals," a production insider told TV Tonight.
Big Brother Australia first premiered on Channel 10 in 2001 and ran for nine seasons (including a celebrity version) until 2008 when it went on a four-year hiatus. It was then picked up by Channel Nine who aired three seasons, before moving to Channel Seven in 2020.

In addition to Big Brother’s return, Channel 10 also announced that next year’s season of MasterChef Australia will be titled MasterChef: Back To Win and will feature a cast of fan-favourite contestants who previously missed out on the trophy.
Another announcement from the network is that Australian Survivor will be returning with two seasons. In addition to Australian Survivor: Brains v Brawn II, Channel 10 will air Survivor: Australia v The World where some of Australia’s most celebrated players will go up against players from Survivor South Africa, Norway, New Zealand, and the US franchise.
