Zendaya And Tom Holland Are Engaged Following Golden Globes Speculation: Reports
Reports say it’s official: Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged!
TMZ first reported the news Monday, citing “sources close to the couple,” one day after Zendaya’s appearance at the Golden Globes. People magazine also reported the engagement, citing a family source.
The “Challengers” star, full name Zendaya Coleman, sported a dazzling ring at Sunday’s award show, prompting rumors that she and Holland, who confirmed they were dating in 2021, were finally on their way to the altar.
According to TMZ, Holland proposed in the days between Christmas and Jan. 1 at one of Zendaya’s family homes.
People’s source told the magazine that “everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening.”
“He’s always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special,” the source said.
At the Golden Globes, which Holland did not attend, a recently engaged Los Angeles Times reporter noticed Zendaya’s ring and asked her if she was engaged, but Zendaya did not verbally respond. Instead, The Los Angeles Times reported that she bashfully showed off her ring and shrugged.
“Tomdaya” is a notoriously private couple, for reasons that Zendaya explained in an August 2023 interview with Elle magazine.
“Parts of my life, I accept, are going to be public,” she said. “I can’t not be a person and live my life and love the person I love. But also, I do have control over what I choose to share. It’s about protecting the peace and letting things be your own but also not being afraid to exist. You can’t hide. That’s not fun, either. I am navigating it more than ever now.”
Zendaya and Holland co-starred in three of Marvel’s “Spider-Man” movies between 2017 and 2021. Holland, who stars as the franchise’s namesake, is also set to star in another of the films in 2026, but it’s unclear if Zendaya will return in her role as MJ.
The couple will also reportedly co-star in director Christopher Nolan’s “The Odyssey,” which is set to be released in 2026.
Zendaya has won two Emmys for her role as Rue Bennett on HBO’s “Euphoria.” Holland won an EE British Academy of Film and Television Arts (BAFTA) Rising Star Award in 2017.
HuffPost reached out to the stars’ representatives twice on Monday, but did not immediately hear back.
