Zendaya Flashes Her Engagement Ring in First Public Outing Since News of Tom Holland's Proposal

The ‘Spider-Man’ star was attending a special screening of her movie ‘Challengers’ at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood on Monday, Jan. 6.

Zendaya is radiating happiness!

The movie star, 28, stepped out on the evening of Monday, Jan. 6. for a special screening of her movie Challengers at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood. The event was her first since the news that she is set to wed her Spider-Man costar Tom Holland was confirmed to PEOPLE by a family source.

Zendaya looked incredible in a plunging black leather blazer teamed with a black mini skirt; she also wore her dark hair in a ponytail styled with bangs. But, of course, all eyes were on her newest accessory — her  5.02-carat East-West Cushion Diamond Button Back Ring from Jessica McCormack — which she first debuted at 2025 Golden Globes on Sunday, Jan. 5.

DeuxMoi was first to report the ring from the London-based jewelry brand.

The smiling star placed her left hand on her chest as she entered the venue, which displayed the ring — listed in the engagement section on the jewelry brand's website — beautifully.

TMZ was first outlet to report the news that Zendaya and 28-year-old Holland were set to wed. According to the outlet, Holland proposed at one of Zendaya's family homes over the holidays. Subsequently, a separate source told PEOPLE that "everyone close to them knew an engagement was happening" — just not when. The source said Holland’s plans had been in the works "for a while."

"He's always been crazy about her. He always knew she was the one. They have something very special," the source said, noting that Holland shared the happy news with friends around New Year's.

"Tom's always had this sweet way of letting the world know that Zendaya is his. Now, it's official — she really is!” the source added.

But as for walking down the aisle, the family source said the pair aren’t in any rush. "They will just enjoy things for now and won't rush a wedding. They are both busy with work projects."

Holland first hinted that he had big holiday plans when he teased a “secret” during a Dec. 18. appearance on the U.K. podcast Dish. During the episode, he shared that he was spending Christmas with Zendaya’s family but the location would be a “secret.”

"[Secret] to you guys," he joked. "I'll know where we're going."

Holland also spoke about the positives of working with his now-fiancée during the interview.

"Studios love it — one hotel room!" he quipped when Dish co-host Nick Grimshaw noted that Zendaya has said she enjoys keeping on the same schedule as Holland.

He added of having her by his side on sets, "Oh God, yeah. It's a saving grace. Best thing that's ever happened to me."

Holland and Zendaya confirmed their relationship in 2021, years after they began starring in the Spider-Man movies together. Holland revealed that another sequel will begin filming in summer 2025 during an Oct. 22 appearance on The Tonight Show with the movie expected to hit theaters in July 2026. Both Holland and Zendaya have also been cast in  Christopher Nolan's next movie, which will also feature Anne Hathaway, Matt Damon, Robert Pattinson, Charlize Theron and Lupita Nyong'o.
