Former child star Jack Vidgen has revealed the reason he decided to make changes to his appearance and get lip fillers.
The 22-year-old says he’d gone through a period of feeling lost and “trying to find myself again” after winning Australia’s Got Talent back in 2011 at the age of 14.
“That’s the thing with me over the years I’ve been looking for my identity,” he told Who magazine.
“I’ve been trying to find myself again and I’ve definitely experimented with filler... there’s no denying that.”
Ahead of his appearance on The Voice this Sunday, the Australian singer says he doesn’t see an issue with something like lip fillers, and encourages people to do “whatever makes you happy”.
“To me, lip filler is like makeup, it’s like doing your hair... it’s not permanent,” he said.
The interview comes after he recently confirmed he hadn’t had any actual plastic surgery.
“I've never had plastic surgery or any surgery,” he told the Daily Telegraph, adding, “It's pretty obvious I've had my lips done with fillers”.
“These types of things [fillers] are common now, especially for people my age - it's not a big deal”.
When questioned about his appearance back in 2017, Jack tweeted: “Omg have people heard of a thing called puberty?”
His mother also reportedly shut down cosmetic surgery rumours, writing on Facebook, “Jack has never had even one cosmetic surgery procedure.. he has gone from a little boy to a man.. his looks changed because he grew up! [sic]”.
The reality star is set to blow The Voice judges away this Sunday when his audition airs on Channel Nine.
