Why Taylor Swift, Brittany Mahomes, and Ice Spice All Wore White to the Super Bowl

After spending most of football season in Chiefs red, the Kansas City Chiefs WAGs and friends surprised fans as they stepped out at the 2025 Super Bowl in a surprisingly neutral hue. Taylor Swift, Brittany Mahomes, Ice Spice, and Ashley Avignone could be seen wearing variations of winter white watching the game from the $3 million Caesars Superdome VIP suite, while other Chiefs wives like Tavia Hunt and Erica Watson also leaned into the all-white style memo for the evening. According to Sports Illustrated, the white Chiefs dress code might have been an intentional way to show support for the Kansas City team as they faced off against the Philadelphia Eagles.

Instead of donning their traditional red and gold uniforms, the Chiefs played against the Eagles wearing white while the Birds competed wearing their home green jerseys. This is because the Super Bowl LIX was played in a neutral location–New Orleans, Louisiana–and the Eagles got the first pick of jersey color as the set “home” team. The Chiefs therefore had to wear white to the Sunday, February 9 game, but this wasn’t necessarily a disadvantage. According to Sports Illustrated, teams who have worn white jerseys at the Super Bowl have historically won more often than teams that have worn their home jerseys. It seems to be a split for the Kansas City Chiefs, who wore white while winning the Super Bowl in 2023. However, they wore red while taking home the Lombardi Trophy last year, and their all-white jerseys didn’t help them win against the Eagles this year.

Even so, Swift ensured she and her squad showed their support as she stepped out in a white Alaïa tank top, an ‘80s-style Saint Laurent cream blazer, and thigh-high Paris Texas boots in a neutral hue. She accessorized with bejeweled Monday Denim daisy dukes and a pop of red, thanks to repurposing the “T” chain she wore on her upper thigh at the 2025 Grammys as a necklace for Sunday’s game. Her longtime friend Ashley Avignone wore a white top underneath her Chiefs red jacket while Ice Spice complemented her “Karma” collaborator’s monochromatic look with a cream bomber jacket. Meanwhile, Brittany Mahomes paired a $73,000 diamond necklace with a white corset top, custom airbrush Chiefs cargo pants, and a cropped white jacket.
