Matt Damon & David Beckham Beer Commercial Officially Wins The Super Bowl

It's as if Stella Artois' marketing team knew we would need a palate cleanser after the Coffee Mate tongue commercial. And boy, did they deliver. The entire internet just broke out in a collective gasp over Matt Damon and David Beckham eating wings (and looking like snacks themselves) in the beer brand's Super Bowl commercial.

Beckham’s on-screen parents inform him (over a beer, of course) that he actually has a secret twin brother named "other David," a.k.a Damon, in America. He hops on a plane to the US to meet his long-lost brother.

"My brother is a famous soccer player? So how famous are you? Like, Matt Damon famous?" Damon cheekily asks.

"Maybe Ben Affleck famous?" Beckham responds.

"That’s a shame,” Damon adds, in a nod to his off-screen bestie who directed the spot.

Fans took to their Twitter keyboards just as quickly as they did following the Coffee Mate commercial. Only this time with positive feedback.

"The Stella Artois commercial with David Beckham and Matt Damon is the best commercial I’ve seen tonight," one user wrote on X. "Ok, so the Matt Damon and David Beckham commercial was the best part of the whole fiasco," another chimed in.

"OK - the David Beckham/Matt Damon commercial might be my favorite of the evening," a third person commented.

"The David Beckham Matt Damon Stella commercial wins tonight. Not hearing any arguments to the contrary," another said.

Others called it "top notch," "10/10," and "the best thing of the night."

Fans even said it was inspiring them to grab the beer themselves, which is the whole point of an ad, after all.

"Both David [Beckham] and I have partnered with Stella Artois over the years in many different ways, but having the opportunity to come together for the Super Bowl is phenomenal," Damon told USA TODAY AD Meter.
